Course-long detailed Case Study
The case study is designed to encourage course participants to work in teams. A scenario is used that emphasizes an organization in transition.
Attendees explore the steps of creating a PMO matched to business needs and so the types of decisions and issues associated with PMOs including the optimal placement and service configuration.
As part of the case study the teams will produce key PMO decision support and approval artifacts and identify the actions that may be needed to manage internal and external influences on a PMO.
The case study builds on the knowledge gained within each course module to reinforce techniques and tool use. Case-study activities are a mix of exercises, debate and challange.
Further exercises are used for exploring topics and developing skills
Depending on attendee needs and consensus of interests an extended ‘apply to your own work-place’ workshop may be used after or in place of the case-study.
Note: The participant level of engagement throughout the case study may be used as input into the certification evaluation process depending on the final exam scores.
