Increasingly project professionals are being called upon to deliver results in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world.

Often the organisation’s expectation of how to exercise control is unchanged from how to manage simple projects. This is naive and a path to failure. The simple fact is a project that is complex cannot be planned in advance because complexity creates the emergence of the unforeseeable. But that does not mean we stop being in control.
